Nieves Guri

Nieves Guri (1984, Mallorca) is a Mallorcan artist whose practice explores transformation, materiality and the relationship between contemporary life and Balearic cultural heritage. She studied at the Escola Massana in Barcelona and holds a degree in Psychology from the University of the Balearic Islands.

Working with textiles, handmade paper, natural pigments and locally rooted materials, Guri develops slow processes of fragmentation and reconstruction, reflecting on change, memory and cultural identity.
