Nieves Guri
Nieves Guri (1984, Mallorca) is a Mallorcan artist whose practice explores transformation, materiality and the relationship between contemporary life and Balearic cultural heritage. She studied at the Escola Massana in Barcelona and holds a degree in Psychology from the University of the Balearic Islands.
Working with textiles, handmade paper, natural pigments and locally rooted materials, Guri develops slow processes of fragmentation and reconstruction, reflecting on change, memory and cultural identity.
Her work has been shown, among others, at a66Gallery, Can Gelabert, Museu Can Oliver and Museu de Porreres. a66Gallery presented her work at SWAB Barcelona in 2025 and Art Cologne Palma in 2026. At SWAB Barcelona, her work received the Fundació Bassat Acquisition Award and entered the foundation’s collection
